Discrete UcD-Inspired Class-D Amplifier
A self-oscillating Class-D amplifier inspired by the UcD topology, built almost entirely from common, inexpensive components.
This project explores a discrete implementation of the UcD self-oscillating Class-D concept without relying on a specialized Class-D controller IC or exotic components. The amplifier is built primarily from readily available “jelly bean” parts, with the output inductor hand-wound specifically for the design.
The project is still in the development and testing stage. Detailed measurements, operating specifications, circuit discussion, and additional test data will be added as characterization continues.
